Stephen leads the Airline Relationship team at London Gatwick; responsible for developing existing airline relationships to their full potential and attracting new services, with a specific focus on developing long haul operations to complement the large network of short haul destinations served from Gatwick. As the world’s most efficient single runway airport, Gatwick already flies nearly 47m passengers annually to over 230 destinations in 80 countries. Through strong commercial partnerships with airlines from across the world, Stephen and his team build Gatwick passenger volumes, increasing frequency, aircraft gauge and destination mix. Stephen joined in 2016 Gatwick having worked at Virgin Atlantic Airways for over ten years, most recently he was heading up Virgin’s Asia-Pacific team based in Hong Kong, responsible for the management and operations of its business in the region. A key focus was on growing Virgin’s brand and market, particularly in Greater China. Prior to this Stephen was General Manager India for the airline, based in New Delhi. Stephen holds a degree in Operational Research from Lancaster University and began his career in transport in shipping an d logistics at American President Lines (APL).
